Do You Believe in Feng Shui?

by Dave Jackson

Nowadays, no one I know has their life organized. I have over 600 friends on Facebook, and skimming down the list I would be hard pressed to come up with a single name of someone who has their sh*t together in that area of life. And if you pick up a book on Feng Shui the first thing they talk about is how disorganization messes with your chi.

Here is what I know. My life is totally interconnected – all the way to you, if you want to go down that route. There is me, which I see as my subconscious, which like it or not, is connected to the greater mind. I can feel vibes, good and bad, energies, as they were, from “things” (people, too, but Feng Shui deals mainly with objects.)

It’s an ancient Chinese practice, and as such, I believe must have some validity. Sorta like the Kennedy Assassination. With so much controversy surrounding it, there has to be something to a conspiracy. If there were nothing to Feng Shui, people would drop it. And I suppose you could argue that Satan could conceivably blind millions, but having grown up in the jungles of the Amazon, I can tell you there is order in nature.

In other words, things want to be set in a proper position. Plants want to grow a certain way – in fact, those that find a way grow stronger and faster. You can’t take that away from the balance of the jungle. It happens whether we want to believe it or not.

One of the best resources I have found on Feng Shui is a cool little book on how to apply 26 of the top Feng Shui secrets to all areas of your life. Check it out here and read through it. And if it’s not for you, I can understand – but you’ll learn from a Chinese person whose family has been using these modalities to shape their lives and be able to quickly apply them to your entire life.

But what do you think? Do you think Feng Shui is all that it’s cracked up to be, or are we wired by our Creator to like balance and organization? (Maybe the two are one and the same – I mean, maybe Feng Shui is a term someone came up with and we’re deep down inside “bent” that way, anyway.) What are your thoughts?
