How to Have the Best

by Dave Jackson

No matter where you are in your life, you really can have God’s best.

If you and I were sitting at a cafe and asked you to describe your life in one word, what word would you use? Good? Frustrated? Worried? Trying? Better? Did you know the Creator wants you to discover a new word to describe your life? Yes.

Good is fine, better is better. But we agree that best is where the Creator wants you to live.

You aren’t supposed to settle for anything less. I travel a lot and see a world living in mediocrity. Bugs me. The Creator sent his best to you and tells you he wants the very best for you.

I’m talking about joy, victory, excellent health emotionally and physically. Truth is, many times even I settle for less. Circumstances we create are far from the best and we get tired and discouraged. Instead of pushing ahead, we settle in where we are.

Oh gosh, I hear it all the time: hmmm I guess I shouldn’t get my hopes up, or, this is as good as life is gonna get for me. Sound familiar? Been there?

I can be at 30 thousand feet and guess what? God best is available there. And I know he is working for my good. The secret begins with something I used to take for granted: living the best life the Creator has for me begins with prayer. That’s right, with asking.

Matthew 7:7 – ask and it will be given to you; look for it and you’ll find it; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Have you tried that and nothing happened?

Faith is the on/off switch here. When you put blind faith (means total trust that He will work it out and you go on your merry way already expecting it) in God, our direct connection to the Creator (faith is), it is simply amazing what will happen.

I want you to try something today, even something silly as a faith experiment. Ask God for something you desire, like the bus to be on time, or a parking spot near the door. Believe you are being taken care of by the Creator himself and go expecting. Start small. You will be so amazed. Try it right now.
